Overview

Myyo is an interactive versatile technique where pressure is applied to specific points within the muscles: combined with passive stretching and gentle yoga asana. Trigger points and tension are released, muscles are re-educated, which alleviates pain, helps threat a wide variety of ailments and body pain.

It is unclear exactly what trigger points actually are, they develop as a physical ‘bundling’ of sarcomeres within the muscles ,or do they also  have an energetic and/ or chemical component? However a trigger point is an irritable spot within a muscle. Trigger points develop due to several factors, Birth, Posture, Career and occupation, Sports and hobbies, Accidents, Injuries and Diseases. Some other sources of pain may originate within the nervous system and joints. All of this causes, trigger points to be laid down within the muscles.

If I came for a treatment, what would I wear?

For most of the session you would remain clothed, however you might be asked to lift up your shirt at the back a little or down to get to the neck area. Some comfortable loose, thin clothing which would allow for freedom of movement would be advised.

How many sessions would be needed?

As every individual is unique, depending on the severity of the original problem, 3 sessions would be recommended. A 4day period between sessions would be needed; there would be some homework to achieve optimum results.

After: a monthly maintenance treatment, to remain in optimum balance and health.

What does a treatment cost?

1x  session 60 minutes :R 320.00 the first session is always a little longer ,as a medical history , Consent form and assessment needs to be completed first.

3x sessions paid in full on starting: R 850.00

Could I claim from my medical aid?

Not at the present moment.
